Baby girl, dilated miocardyopathy from Argentina, need help
Re: Baby girl, dilated miocardyopathy from Aregentina, need help
Hi Willy and Corrij!
Today we had appointment with the new cardiologist. I already love her, she is so educative about Lara´s illnes!
Shotening fraction 20 days ago was 25-27%, today 25-28%, she says that is moderate and not severe, mitral insufficiency is the same but also moderate or a little severe.
Non compaction for her is not a cardiopathy in Lara, sees trabeculations but a few, so she can´t be sure if this is from birth or not.
She can´t say what may happen in the future but today Lara has NOTHING that indicates a transplant.
She didn´t calculate the Z-score but she thinks is 3+/3,5+, is a big heart but not giant.
Also reduced enalapril to half and spironolactone, because don´t want to much potasium, the enalapril was in the limit of high.
We have to see her next week and see how Lara goes with this new dosis an then raise up carvedilol.
Also, doesn´t think that the mitral valve was the first isue, first was the dilatation. Can´t tell if the mitral valve will be ok if heart get smaller, maybe yes or not, in any case there is a surjury to repair the mitral valve, which now she doesn´t see necesary at all.
About supplements, she is fine with it, she wouldn´t prescribe it (magnesium and ribose) just because there is not enough studys about it, but is ok and says might help.
She said you are welcome to write her and talk about the protocol, Lara, and read the information you have about supplements/heart. So if you´re interest I can send her your email or send her´s to you.
I try to see the future far, you know me, and ask her if Lara could have childrens, and with the hear Lara has TODAY, she could, it would be a risk but she could.
We are happy with the change, and Lara is better from the cold, so it´s a good day
I hope you have a good day too!
Aleta.

So far good news. BNP?
Your cardiologist does good work. Corrij and I try to do our best as well. There is no need to send your cardiologist information about the protocol because there is no interaction she must know about.

BNP she said about in a month to see how it goes with more carvedilol and less enalapril and spironolactone. Are you fine with it?
She said that you are welcome to write her because she doesn't has info about supplements, and if yo have some paper she would be happy to read it to learn more about, she said she loves to read anything that can be helpful. But if you don't feel like it it's OK!
Thank you!!!!

Re: Baby girl, dilated miocardyopathy from Aregentina, need help
Oke but this a lot of research for here to read
You can tell here that it took almost five years to compile this and write my protocol
HERE IT IS
http://cardiomyopathie-hartfalen.pillie ... .4.php#Q10
Send here this link via email. From there she can read all my research on supplements
Tell here that the paragraph after the title of the study is a QUOTE from the study. In most cases the conclusion. she can read the quoute first to see if she wants to read the study
It will take here until Christmas To read this
If she wants to read my articles she can use this AUTOMATIC TRANSLATION
http://translate.google.nl/translate?hl ... index1.php

Hi Corrij and willy!
I hope you are doing well!
Last Thursday Lara had pediatrician appointment, she saw Lara very good, gained 250gr and grew 1,5 cm in a month and a half. Very good
Also we saw the cardiologist to check Lara to see how she is doing with less enalapril and spuronolactone, no echo, just listened heart and lungs and liver and everything sounded good.
Even so, sometimes I see a little blue around the lips, when it cry is normal, but sometime she is not.
Anyway both doctor saw her very good
Cardiologist send us to do some labs, we'll let you know the results.
Is there any change in supplements doses about the weigh gain?
This are the news, have a lovely weekend!
Aleta.

Oke we will wait and see
If you scroll back in this discussion you will see my calculations.
Put in here new weight and see what difference it makes. I think we are still fine.

Re: Baby girl, dilated miocardyopathy from Aregentina, need help
Hi Willy!
I was waiting to get the results from the lab to write you, and that was today
Still no pro BNP since the cardiologist still did{t increse carvedilol, because she was waiting for this resulst too. I guess carvedilol next week and one month for proBNP.
this are the results:
https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f
Ped told that this results are exellent.
(I{m not sure if the link is working, I´ll send you via amail just in case)
Last sunday I saw that Lara turn a little blue around the lips and very pale, I´ve panic, of course, called the cardiologist and she told me to go next day.
she made an echo and the heart is the same measures, and SF 26-28%. She told me that she ask me to go for me, not for Lara, because this CM doesn´t get blue lips, if that hapens I would see a lot of thins before that.
Anyhow, I´ll buy and oximeter that I hope I never have to use, but this girl scares me some times!
She told me to calm down because Lara is doing very good
Also she talked to the cardiologist we had before and they agree that the echo from december was wrong, and she was ok with our decition to go with dr cook (new cardio), and in any case they can work toghether on Lara
And I note it that for the first time I have the EJ in a report, is 40-44% is not that bad, right?
Besides that, she is growing beatiful, sweet, smart and never stops!!! She is climbing to every fernature all day, I say that she is a ninja baby, and a terrorist dwarf
I hope you are doing well
Cheers
Aleta.

Sure blue lipps wil scare me too I would have the same reaction
But your cardiologist is right. I you interpret blue lipps as a worsening of here heart condition you will see more things before. For example extremely tired.
An EJF of 40 - 44 % is very good. Is the maximum for SF 30? I believe it is.
What did the cardio say about my research?

Hi Willy and Corrij!
I can´t find what is normal range for EF in childrens. Since Lara had always measure in SF I know the ranges, but not for EF. She is 40-44%. Is in the first report of our current cardiologist but the newest has only SF.
Cheers

For adults the max EJF is 60%
But these questions you can better ask when you have your next consult, do not ask them now, it has no priority.
Get Lara on solid food that has priority, look at my advise again on this matter a few pages back!
