Chromium Picolinate
do not worry about Chromium Picolinate

the negative news around Chromium Picolinate was based on a bad designed scientific research project. All conclusions of this research are wrong

so......

Chromium GTF of Chromium Picolinate will do the job for you

Is it that difficult to get supplements?
Can't you even get the big brands like NOW and Pharma Nord?
That makes it a bit more difficult for you I hope it's still affordable?
NOW has never been heard of in this country. Pharma Nord is like Solgar, some shops have some, but not many varieties.
Our big brands would be Musashi, Blackmores and Natures Own.

Supplements here in the Netherlands are not cheap and a lot of people have to leave other things to be able to afford it. I find this quite frustrating but there is not much I can do.

I am very fortunate, I work in the mining industry, and am extremely well paid. I do what I need to get better. (A sense of humor is very critical to this I think).
Joking apart, I think it's very good that you try to reduce the sugar intake. Don't you feel it, have any detoxification phenomena.
You mean like headaches, crankiness  and a real craving just to have a Coca Cola or chocolate :( ? I sure do. I just choose to ignore them.

As for potassium tests, I have regular full blood screening, I will try to get a copy of my last results and post them here. But everything is within the reccomended (Australian) limits.

Cheers,
Doug

Question folks.

Why does MSM make you feel tired, and how long does it take to adjust to using it?

I have had a noticeable feeling of tiredness since commencing MSM.

:o

Hi Douglas,

MSM should give you more energy :D

The reason why you feel tired is detoxification.

How many MSM are you taking?

If you want to know for sure if the MSM makes you feel tired, you can stop taking it for a few days and then start again.

Every person is different and so are there reactions, this kind of feeling should be gone in a week or so,

Update

Bericht door Douglas » do mei 24, 2007 3:25 pm

:D Hi all thought I would just share information with you as to where I am at. It may be helpful to someone.

I started Chromium Picolinate on 01-May-07 and have found my craving for sugar has dropped right off. I used to drink 3-4 cups of tea/coffee with 2.5 teaspoons of sugar. I don't drink any. Chocolates and soft drink were a real problem.

I started MSM on 15th May. I started with 500mg and am now taking at least 3000mg a day in the morning.

So what has happened? Well I had headaches, got very cranky and had some good aching joints/muscles etc.

One real stand out was the tiredness. I would be sitting at work or home and just almost instantly feel very tired. A real fatigued tired where you almost can't stay awake. This would pass after a little while (and I think that is linked to trips to the toilet.)

This week on the 23rd May, I took all my prescription tablets and supplements and went to work. For the first time in ages, I just blitzed my work. I worked solidly all day and achieved more in that day than I have for a long time. I had no tiredness episodes.

Today the 24th was almost similar but I had a big sleep this evening at about 6:30pm. But I woke 45 minutes later feeling on top of everything.

So, I guess things seem to be changing and I am very optimistic.
:P
Thanks all,
Regards,

Douglas Byles

:D Hi Corrij,

All is well here. I am taking the Carnitine, now, 3 x 500mg.

The daytime tiredness attacks have gone and I am sailing through the day without having to struggle.

I have pretty much eliminated added sugar from my diet. and I am trying to eat less. (My problem is not so much junk food, as the massive amounts I eat).

I have had a couple of Ventricular Tachycardia episodes, but my ICD (defibrillator) has successfully overdriven them, so I haven't passed out and received a shock which is very good.

Looking forward to progressing. I have been reading the other users posts with interest and hope that we can all continue to make progress.

Have a great day.
:P

Douglas Byles

You are insulin resistant. Are you hungry after a meal with carbohydrates? Or are you hungry all day?

Corrij I am trying to diagnose if Doug has hyperinsulinemia.

I am away for the weekend, if the answers are YES, try to put him on the graanrestrictie dieet during the day to see if the hunger during the day disapears

Hi Willy,

No and no to both.

I can eat a high carb meal, and I am full and that is it.

I don't snack between meals, except for an occasional piece of fruit.

I eat when I am hungry and when I have eaten, I am done.

I am feeling really good for the most part, unless I overdo the exercise too much, then the old heart starts to beat like a jazz drummer. :)

Oh and the headaches have gone. :D

Luxury, flaming luxury mate. Sail it here, we have one of the best yacht harbours in Australia.

I am just trying rducing my MSM to 2000mg a day. I have found I have a very tired episode at the end of each day in late afternoon. :-?

When I was working my way up the dosage I didn't get this at about 2000.

Listen to your body carefully!! That's the reason Corrij is introducing the supplements one for one.

In general I advise people to reduce to 50% of dosage in case of side effects. In a couple of months if you are in a stable situation with the other supplements you can try an 100% MSM dose again to see what happens.

You can compare the introduction of these supplements with walking in a swamp (your health). You must be able te return to dry land in case of wet feet. So keep a diary on the forum when you introduce things, what happens, how you feel etc. It will help you to navigate the SWAMP.
