Bericht door Sharon Lekky » zo nov 27, 2005 1:55 pm

Hey Willie
Second attempt at posting in forum, here goes! Pasted email as you suggested:
Hope your holiday was good. This is my first time in any kind of forum so
hope it works.
I have previously emailed all my details through Matthew Hornsey's email
address (my partner not split identity!). Have logged on with details you
gave. We seem to have Matthew Hornsey as a logon name so not sure about your advice to use Richard Welk's id.
Anyway, hopefully you'll receive this and we can start talking about
protocols.
I panicked earlier this week and went to hospital after a bout of sudden
and severe fatigue. Monitored for a few days and dosages of Dilatrend
(12mg x2) and Perindopril (4mg x 1) maintained. BP around 90-100/55-70.
Had been feeling a little light-headed for the first time but in the end I
think it had nothing to do with my heart failure as Matt complained of
same symptoms, prob a virus.
I've already started on coQ10 at 3 x 50mg per day as I was so anxious to
start. So far I've definitely noticed an immediate, generalised increase
in energy apart from a few episodes of feeling totally drained right after
lunch time. These pass after 30-60mins. I wonder if it's the digestive
process? Although generally I don't feel sick enough to be knocked out by
digesting a meal, I'm currently running my house and caring for a baby and preschooler, although I do pace myself.
Anyway, I also got some chromium piccolinate, is this the right form of
chromium? Anyway, I'd love to hear your advice on what and how much I SHOULD be taking.
Thanks you so much again!
Sharon Ley
Regards,

Sharon

Hello Sharon,

First of all, welcome to this forum and I’d like to help you follow Willy’s protocol.

When you get a message like this from your doctors’ you always get a fright because you
don’t expect this, but there is hope. Have you seen Joyce’s messages?

Can you get supplements from for instance Solgar, Pharma Nord or NOW?

If you can I suggest you start with the following,

Q10 2x a day 100mg

Acetyl L –Carnitine 3x a day 500mg

Chromium GTF 200 mcg a day

MSM 3x a day 1000 mg

Always take the carnitine on a empty stomach and build up the MSM very slowly. Start with 500 mg a day and if that’s fine then add 500
and you build it up like that. The MSM can give you some detoxifying problems like headache, diarrhoea, extra tiredness.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate, I’ll always try to answer as quick as I can and I like doing it. :P

Greetings,

Corrij

Hi Sharon,

I`ve made a mistake, just take the chromium and the MSM for a start, and wait with the Carnitine and the Q 10.
The Q 10 you`re taking isn`t the right one, just start with MSM and chromium they must give you more energy

After a few weeks we added some more supplements,

greetings,

Hello Corrij

It's a pleasure to meet you!

Thank you for your quick reply! I now have your revised protocols.

I had already bought some chromium piccolinate 200mg- is that the right form? I don't know whether it is same as chromium GTF?

Are there special recommendations about when/how should take chromium and MSM (apart from going slow with MSM)?

Are you saying I should stop taking Coq10 at present? A bit nervous about this as it has definitely helped me alot so far. Probably not as much as a better brand. I still have a full bottle, can I use it up while starting chromium and MSM or just chuck it?

I am always the horse bolting at the gate! I have no idea what the proper saying is but you get my drift?

Best
Sharon

Sorry Corrij I was wrong, Richard had mixed results with Q10, maybe because he is using an bad supplement. Sharon has good results with Q10.

So sorry for messing this up. Sharon should stay on Q10 and introduce MSM and Chromium only.

The reason behind this is: MSM will allow you to transport more oxygen and chromium wil improve energy production for some people (speially for people who eat sugar). These supplements will not cure CMP.

MSM and chromium will provide us more time to introduce the protocol.

Did they examine whether your veins (neck or groin) let enough blood flow?
They did. Doctors didn't remark on this.

Do you suffer with decomposition or swollen ankles?
Don't know what decomposition is but I have absolutely no fluid retention in my ankles.

Do you have a fluid restriction? No

Are there certain things at the moment you can’t do anymore?
To be honest, at the right time of day I can do just about anything, I have enough strength and energy and sometimes I actually feel more normal when active than when resting. When the fatigue hits, that's when I could do something if I had to but I know just to lay down.

Can you still climb the stairs for instance?
Yes, I climb two flights of stairs several times a day in our house.

Or do you still do sports?
I haven't done sports since Sophie born last August (used to ride my bicycle) mainly due to lack of opportunity. I dance with the girls and we go for hour long strolls (at a toddler's pace). So it's gentle exercise, I certainly don't think I could do anything strenuous. Breathlessness has NEVER been a problem.

How does the cardiologist call your illness?
Dilated cardiomyopathy peripartum

Do you suffer from allergies or have an intolerance to food or medicines?
None.

Do you get tired quickly?
Yes, 3 or 4 times each day, interspersed with fairly quick recovery of energy - very strange!

Do you eat a lot of sugar?
No. But I used to have one sweet thing (cake etc) almost every day until last few months. Never had sugar in tea or on breakfast.

After some exertion , do you quickly get short of breath?
Not usually, unless it's intense or prolonged.

Do you consider yourself as overweight?
No. I am right in the middle of my weight range. I am 178cm tall and weigh 70kg. I was 80kg after giving birth and have gradually dropped weight in last year. Probably due to breastfeeding and I suspect my heart has been demanding extra energy. Weight has been stable for 6 weeks. I was concerned about loss but docs assured nothing worrying to do with heart condition.

Are oyu able to drink a lot of alcohol? Coffee?
No, never have been, very sensitive. Since diagnosis I haven't had any. Interesting, in 1998-9 I found that after drinking just two glasses of wine I would feel quite drunk and hungover next day. This eventually passed after 18mths but I suspect my liver was compromised at that time.

I'll do homework on those brands of CoQ10. I thought the Blackmore's prep had oil because it was in a capsule. I take one 500mg Vit E tab with it plus one 500mg Vit C- is that OK? Should I space away from meds or any other supplements?

Best
Sharon

Sharon

hi Sharon,

You are talking about a vitamin E tablet, but this is supposed to be a capsule(oil).

Furthermore you are talking about a make of Q10 we don’t know at all. Would it be a problem for you to take the Q10

of the makes Pharma Nord, Solgr or NOW? We know these makes and we know they sell a good product.

There is so much you can buy in this field but unfortunately also a lot of rubbish. To be sure you’re better of switching to a

renowned make.

Greetings,

Corrij

Hi Corrij

Thanks for advice.

The Vit E is naturally derived oil capsule.

As for Q10, I'll use up what I've got and then switch to Solgar which is only recommended brand that I can get in Australia.

Still haven't started on chromium and MSM as my doctor is checking if these are OK with my Dilatrend and Coversyl.

Cheers
Sharon

Hi Sharon,

Over here in the Netherlands people use the same medicine as you and it's no problem to use Chromium
and MSM alongside your regular medicine.
We are not talking about medicines but supplements that also exist in your body by nature.
It seems unlikely that your doctor would disapprove of these supplements.
When you start your MSM, will you let me know?
I wish you a lot of success and hope to hear from you soon.

Greetings,

Corrij

Hi Corrij

I started using MSM (750mg of powder x 1 per day) three days ago. So far I have not experienced any side effects so will take two doses as from tomorrow. Haven't started chromium yet. Thought I'd wait til I get to full dose of MSM. My doctor said she couldn't see why I couldn't take them and along with your advice that's enough for me.

We've just got through a hot and hectic Christmas and strangely, I've felt quite relaxed and energetic - could be the supplements are working already!

Thanks for being so tuned in - even over Christmas!

Best
Sharon

MSM can work the same day, I use a bit more MSM in the morning if I have a busy day coming.
