Corrij,
Hope all is well...
Is 3 x's a day during waking hours or should I take one dose during the night? For example, currently I take MSM 1000mg 3x's day using the following schedule:
8:00am, 2:00pm, & 10:00pm (Morning, Mid-day, Bedtime)
Should I alter that to
8:00am, 4:00pm, Midnight

Hello Kevin,
Thank you for asking with me is everything very well
The best way to take supplements is with your maels, except the amino acid like carnitine and taurine, you must take them on a empty stomach.
It is not necessary to take supplements at night, a disturbed night`s rest is not well,at night your body repair themselves.
MSM with meals
Chromium with a meal
Acetyl-L Carnitine 30 min before or 2 hrs. after meals
CoQ10 with meal that contains fat
Taurine 30 min before or 2 hrs. after meals
vitamin C 3 with meals
regards Corrij

Hi Corrij,
I'm doing ok, thank you for inquiring. I have been meaning to ask a question, however.
It is my understanding that I'm not to take the Acetyl - L Carnitine and the Taurine together. If I'm to take each three times a day but not together it's hard to work out the schedule. Currently I'm taking them 30 minutes apart on an empty stomach. For example, I wake at 8:00am take Taurine wait 30 minutes then take Carnitine, wait 30 minutes then eat breakfast. I do the same at 2:00pm and again at 9:00pm. If that is incorrect then please explain.
I'm hoping that since it is ok to eat after 30 minutes from taking one of the supplements that it is also ok to take the other supplement 30 minutes later and eat 30 minutes after that.
Please advise.

Hi Kevin,
You don`t have to take the Taurine (for example)3 x a day.
You can take the whole doses at once.
1/2 hour before breakfast 1000 mg Carnitine
1/2 hour before lunch 1500 ,g Taurine
1/2 hour before diner 500 mg Carnitine
Make this schedule things easier for you?All the people on the Dutch forum use this schedule.
In a later stage we added one more amino acid(arginine/ornithine)this one you must take before bedtime.
The amino acids you take always on a empty stomach,1/2 before eating or two hours after eating. When you take them 1/2 hour after eating your stomach is not empty

Corrij

Dose taking
Hi Geoff
You don't know me but I like to follow other CHFers on the site. Just chuckling about your question with how to take the amino acids. I had the same nightmarish schedule until I found out I could take the whole dose for a specific amino acid at one time. I was seriously challenged by the whole thing, constantly checking my watch, sometimes accidentally eating something just half an hour before I was due to take another does (DOH!) and then the whole schedule was thrown out. It's rare for me to have an empty stomach! Sometimes I'd stay up way late just so I could fit in my last dose. One good thing is all this distracted me from my DCM.
Hope you're starting to feel some positivie effects from all this!
Cheers

I have gained weight... not eating entirely right nor am I excercising as I should. I plan to change that. I'm taking all supplements and meds as scheduled. Some palpatations but not the worst that I've experienced. My next echo is in May and will see if there is any improvement then. My last Cardiologist visit was in February but was routine only. (Blood Pressure, Weight Check, etc.) My energy level is ok, I don't know what normal feels like since I suspcect that it hasn't been normal for years. I do manage to make it through each day without feeling tired. I remain mostly asymptomatic. For the last month I've felt like I have congestion in my chest. The Cardiologist says it's not fluid rentention. I don't understand it however it may be the result of the sleep apnea machine that I sleep with at night. In general everything is ok. I've read some of the posts at this and other websites and I have a lot for which to be thankful, all things considered. Thank you for following up. Do I need to add anything to the protocal?
Regards,
Kevin

Yes, that is correct. I am currently on the protocal you mentioned.
I should say that I am only notified some of the time that I have a message at this forum. Mostly I just check back occassionally to see if there has been any activity. Sometimes I receive an email however this occurrence is infrequent.
