BNP and NT-proBNP levels decrease in most people who are taking drug therapies for heart failure, such as ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, and diuretics.

Levels of both BNP and NT-proBNP tend to increase with age.

Levels of NT-proBNP and BNP may be increased in persons with kidney disease.

While both BNP and NT-proBNP will rise with left ventricle dysfunction and either can be measured, they are not interchangeable and the results cannot be directly compared.

Although BNP is usually used to recognize heart failure, an increased level in people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) indicates an increased risk of recurrent events. Thus, a doctor may use BNP to evaluate risk of a future cardiac event in someone with ACS.

Hi Willy ad Corrij!

Today we have the echo to discard the coronary anomaly, which was the first suspected reason for DCM at diagnosis and was dismiss a few day later. But the new cardiologist wants to check up that again with a specialist in coronaries. Scared big time. If he can´t tell in the echo we have to make an MRI or a cath, with anesteshia, and that´s dangerous for Lara, so I really hope he can see what he needs in the echo!!!

Tomorrow we´ll raise up carvedilol dosis, now she is having 3,125 mg, one half in the morning and other at night, tomorrow she´lll have 3 half. And on thursday we have cardio appointment to see how Lara is doing with new dosis, and discuss the echo made today, and the report of last echo 2 weeks ago.

Fingers crossed!!!!

I have a question: Lara has a cold 10 days by now. A frien of mine gives her daughter 2 drops of propoleo at day, and she says that didn´t catched a cold in the whole inter. It would be interfiering with the preotocol? Because I wanna try it.

Do you mean propolis?
Propolis seems to have activity against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It might also have anti-inflammatory effects and help skin heal.

Cold sores. Applying a specific 3% propolis ointment (Herstat or ColdSore-FX) might help improve healing time and reduce pain from cold sores.

Propolis is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth or applied to the skin appropriately. It can cause allergic reactions, particularly in people who are allergic to bees or bee products. Lozenges containing propolis can cause irritation and mouth ulcers.

Special Precautions & Warnings:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking propolis if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.

Asthma: Some experts believe certain chemicals in propolis may make asthma worse. Avoid using propolis if you have asthma.

Bleeding conditions: A certain chemical in propolis might slow blood clotting. Taking propolis might increase the risk of bleeding in people with bleeding disorders.

Hi Corrij, yes I meant propolis.

She takes Vitamin C with Supradyn, and these days I gave her extra dosis of vitamin D3 to protect her lungs.

She is graving her ear and crys now, after the acho I´ll call a pediatrician to come home and see if there is no ear infection. I have one now and I´m with antibiotics, but they told me that is no contagious!

A very stressfull day...........

An ear infection usually is caused by bacteria and often begins after a child has a sore throat, cold, or other upper respiratory infection. If the upper respiratory infection is bacterial, these same bacteria may spread to the middle ear; if the upper respiratory infection is caused by a virus, such as a cold, bacteria may be drawn to the microbe-friendly environment and move into the middle ear as a secondary infection. Because of the infection, fluid builds up behind the eardrum.

Placing a warm, moist washcloth over the affected ear may lessen pain.

Garlic has antimicrobial properties and natural pain relieving qualities, making it highly effective in the treatment of ear infections. There are a few ways to use garlic as a home treatment.

Make garlic oil by cooking two garlic cloves in two tablespoons of sesame oil or mustard oil until it turns blackish. Strain the solution. When it is bearably hot, use two to four drops of this oil in the infected ear as ear drops.
Alternatively, you can also boil two or three fresh garlic cloves in water for five minutes, then crush them and add some salt. Put the mixture in a clean cloth and place it against the affected ear.
Consuming two to three cloves of raw garlic daily also helps speed up the healing process.

Well, since yesterday she almost don´t eat solids, she is having a lot of milk....she has a nasty cold, now is worse, with a liiiiiitle fever last night, and today 37°. a doctor came home last night, no ear infection but a lot o mocus so she doesn´t want food...
yesterday we did the echo, the coronarys are were they meant to be, so still stuck with DCM. At least she won´t need surjury....
The doctor who saw her told us that the mitral defficiency and the function defficiency are "moderate" and no "severe", something like the new cardiologist said. I love to hear those words, but the former cardiologist always said that it was severe, and put enphasis in that everytime she could.
Is Lara better or they see things different_ I really don]t know which one do we have to believe... I choose the ones that says that is better, but is right for Lara?
Couldn´t raise up carvedilol dosis today because of fever, we´ll have to wait for her to heal this cold.

Hi willy, thanks. I want to feed her in any way she wants until the cold is gone. Anyway I´m giving her magnesium 3 hours after milk and 1 before. I believe today is better.

Next monday we´ll have the echo report mede two days ago, with Z score and all the numbers.

Tomorrow the one we did april 17.

I´ll post everything here.

At least move from the powder to a gel based Q10

Thw second step is to move from the old l-carnitine to a more effective form

I had some good results with Emma changing to acetyl-l-carnitine

But if you are sure about an other form......
