Hi Corrij,

What should Shane start taking next and when would that be? I may need to get down to the vitamin store before they close for the holidays.

Thank so much!

Happy Christmas Verona and Shane - from Downunder Australia!

My daughter and I have just returned from a holiday on Stradbroke Island, west of Brisbane in Queensland. Cardiomyopathy has not - and will not - affect our enjoyment of life just yet :) We did lots of swimming in the lakes, and saw all sorts of wildlife (goanna, snake, dolphin, stingray, tropical fish) - an early Christmas present for us both as we love animals. Hope you are both doing well at the moment, and that Christmas is a restful and happy time for you too. Karla seems to be getting closer to accepting the protocol, so I check in often to see how you are going with your young chap. All the best for the festive season and for 2008 :D
Stay happy - warm regards.

Hello Andrea!

Thank you for the post! It seems I have been to busy to look at these boards the last few days. That is so great that you and Karla got to enjoy some fun times together! I hope your Christmas was merry!

Shane was there for Christmas at my mom's house and he had his 15 month old son there as well. He is a very caring father. :D

He left to go to his friend's house later and I had to remind him to take his later dose of meds and supplements with him. He generally is really good about remembering, and sometimes has come back home later to take them. It is tough remembering the times and doses for him, but he realizes the importance of taking them. I bet Karla will come around soon.

Have a fantastic new year with lots of healing miracles, I am counting on it!

Many blessings,
Verona

Hi Corrij,

Hope your Chirstmas was the best!

Shane is still having to increase his Coumadin dose, but I agree that we should just work this together with the CoQ10 supplements. It might be another few months or so for him to totally get off the Coumadin.

He is presently up to 120 mg of the CoQ10 and is taking Carnitine, Chromium, MSM, Multi Vitamin, Vitamin C and Taurine supplements.

He has been taking these supplements for approximately five weeks. When would be a good time to add more?

Thanks so much! :D

Hello Verona,

Thank you for asking, cristmas was busy but very nice :D

He can added all of the supplements, at the same time.
Only the carnitine and the taurine on a empty stomach, the rest with meals.

The Q 10 isn`t enough, it should be about 200 mg a day.

greetings,
Corrij

Thanks so much!

Hi Corrij,

Hope your New Years was good! I've been really busy too, so I understand. I am really looking forward to a happy, healthy new year. :D

Thank you for the correct dose info. The vitamin E is hard to get in that exact dose, but I can come close. I may be able to put together 500 IE using a couple of pills.

Shane's INR test came out okay this time, even with taking 120 mg. of CoQ10. So I am slowly building up the dose for him. The next INR test will be at the end of next week.

We will be going to the vitamin shop tomorrow!

Thanks so much for all your help!
Verona

Hi Corrij,

Shane is on the complete protocol except for the Ribose that I ordered in the mail and should be here in a couple of days. He is taking 210 mg of CoQ10 also now.

He is also taking 500 IU vitamin E. He is still on the Coumadin and I wanted to know if the Vitamin E and Coumadin would be too blood thinning? Does the CoQ10 210mg help with this?

He has had headaches for quite awhile so I told him to not take the MSM as of yesterday. When should he try taking it again?

Also he says he feels strange sometimes when taking the Taurine. Can a person be allergic to this?

Sorry for all the questions, I sure appreciate your helpful advice!

Thanks again and have a great weekend! :D

Hi Verona,

You don`t have to excuse for asking me things, thats the reason I am on this forum :D and I am very glad to give a little support and advice

Taurine is a dietary supplement used to treat people who are trying to stop drinking alcohol. It is also used to treat heart problems, like congestive heart failure. Taurine may be added to liquid food that is given to people through a needle in a vein (an "IV"). It may be helpful in the treatment of cystic (SIS-tik) fibrosis. Other uses for taurine include the treatment of high blood pressure, diabetes, and epilepsy (EP-i-lep-se) (convulsions). Taurine may improve eye health and vision (sight).

It is possible to get an allergic reaction while you taking taurine, but I never heard it before. He must also be allergic for energy drinks like red bull, because they have a lot of taurine in it.

Side effects are,

Breathing problems or tightness in your throat or chest
Chest pain
Skin hives, rash, or itchy or swollen skin

Other Side Effects:
You may have the following side effects, but this medicine may also cause other side effects. Tell your doctor if you have side effects that you think are caused by this medicine.

Diarrhea (loose stools)
Constipation (hard stools)

Try to stop the taurine and look whats happen.

Vitamin E and the Q10 effects the coumadin, but I asumed that Shane has regulary controle his INR?

Are the headaches gone now he is stop taking the MSM?

greetings,
Corrij

Hi Corrij,

His headache is better. He quit taking MSM on Wednesday. He has had these headaches off and on for quite some time now. Could it be from any of the meds he's taking?

Will he be able to start the MSM again soon?

Thank you!
Verona
